Travelled 403 kms today @ 100 kph. Troy drank 15.9 litres/100kms.
We had an incredible flight over Lake Argyle, the Bungles and surrounding areas in the morning. Our pilot Matt from Kingfisher Air was extremely knowledgeable and provided a running commentary while we soared above. It was a fantastic experience that gave us a unique perspective from 3,500 feet above.
We left Kununurra after lunch and soon crossed the border into the Northern Territory. We set up Dora at the Mathison Rest Area (98 kms south-west of Katherine) and the moo-ing of the cows lulled us to sleep.
TOP TIP – bring along podcasts to listen to on those long uninspiring stretches of the great grey ribbon and/or good music that suits the scenery and mood (we began the first stretch of the highway with our Australian mix – e.g Paul Kelly, Hoodoo Gurus)
